Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given an important address on the country's economy. He announces the merger of the country's largest banks. He said that Punjab will merge with Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of Commerce in National Bank. The bank which will be formed after the merger will become the second largest bank in the country. Indian Bank will merge with Allahabad Bank and Canara Bank with Syndicate Bank.
